{Span off this post}The cool air of the hallway hit Eva like a wave of relief, if only she could feel it. She could still hear the shouts of arguments going on behind her - or at least she assumed arguments - but she didn't care, continuing to march down the hall and ignore the calls behind her.

[Continued from here.] He shoves someone out of the way. New girl? Irrelevant. "Eva, Eva wait up- E..." Well. She doesn't appear to be in a- talking- sort of... mood... "...va?" Possibly because they just broke up yesterday. For the fifth time this week. But it wasn't even Daniel's fault this time! Over much. She and the damn magpie completely overreacted to a perfectly reasonable comment about feathers and personal hygiene and a diet consisting mainly of worms. |

Laurie heads out of the lunch hall, pausing to let Daniel past her.
She paces after the pair of them, and starts chatting casually to Ellie
"So, has anyone shown you round yet? Would you like a flyer? We're starting a grassroots anti bullying campaign."

"I got the tour when I arrived, and I memorised the map so I think I should be okay," she smiled, and took a leaflet, "I don't quite understand why people bully other people -- is that what Arkady was doing to Eva with the dog and the birds?" she blinked, tilting her head slightly

Eva paused, mid step in the not so empty hall way, her thoughts pierced by a starkly familiar voice. She pivots sharply, fixing her eyes coldly on Daniel.
"Danny." She sighed, not quite a sneer but clearly trying to be disdainful of her ex. Still her eyes fixed on him, ignoring all else around them and her lips curled slightly at the corner.

This time, said somewhat nervously. It's almost like he didn't plan this.
His eyes dart frantically up and down, and- wait, when did she do that?
"I. Like your nails."

The comment gave Eva pause.
"I..."She glanced away, a smile trying to twitch its way onto her lips through she tried to push it down again. "You can't fix this that easily!" She snapped before spinning away again, grin plastered on her face as she pressed the purple and black rose patterned nails into her palms.

Laurie steps sideways and casually mutters to Daniel
"Nice catch, I helped pick out the colours."
She stepped swiftly after Eva, a bounce in her step.

This fifth post-break-up apology is going so much better than the first, second, third and fourth. He thinks she's smiling? Possibly?

Eva stops dead in her tracks, spins effortlessly on her heal and marches right back up to Daniel.
"What did you say?" She asked, her face carefully expressionless.

Pause. Pained expression. To Laurie:

Were Mia Mulholland to enter this particular corridor, at this very moment, she would have a few things to say. Things about Academy policy on public displays of affection. Things about Eva's extremely poor taste in on-again off-again boyfriends, and Daniel's extremely poor taste in literally everything, and who even does that sort thing in a corridor anyway and did she just- okay, ew, no, Mia Mulholland would be leaving right around now.
Fortunately, Mia Mulholland is not here. So there is no one around to make inchoate noises of disgust, and Daniel happily reciprocates.

Laurie paces down the hall back towards the lunch hall, keeping an eye out for people leaving.
She coughts back up the hall unsubtly as the Lunch Hall doors open
Luckily at the point Mr. I leaves hes heading for the teachers lounge, and Laurie is an obviosuly uncomplicated presence in the hallway.
