{Carried on from Corridor}For Eva there was always something homely about the Theatre complex: from the wide open foyer filled with posters hanging from the silver wire tree sculpture that is the centre peace of the room, each detailing productions past and the auditions for the end of summer, right down to the low level dramatic lighting and carefully controlled climate. She relaxed the moment they were inside in much the same way she had in the music room. Spinning on her heals, she smiled at her two companions. "You know where the projector room is, right, Laurie? Or do you want me to show you where the keys are?" A simple question and yet laced with about 60 layers of meaning. Of course what it really boiled down to was Eva asking if Laurie really did have something to tell her alone or if she was free to continue hanging out with Ellie in peace.

Laurie was familiar enough with Eva's layered meanings to get her drift, plus perfectly aware of the conversation the two of them had had in the quad.
"I know how to get in there," she jingles a set of ... not keys "so I'll be fine, but wouldn't mind catching up afterwards. Especially considering His Lordship's" there's a bitter twist to her voice for a moment "recent behaviour"
And she turns away and up the narrow stairs to the auditorium's projection box.

Eva bristled at the mention of Daniel, eyes narrowing a fraction as she gave Laurie a curt nod. "Afterwards then."
She skipped through the foyer, following the call of Ellie's voice and taking the low slung steps quickly to reach her. "I personally like.... row HB, seats 25 and 26." She grinned, taking Ellie's hand and leading her a little further down past the rows and rows of seats and then in to the middle of one to the aforementioned seats. She carfuly sat herself in one before kicking her feet up onto the seat in front.

Ellie joined Eva down in the seats and following suit flung her legs up over the row of seats in front, trying not to read too much into the holding of her hand. She was surprised by the sheer size of the theatre: she'd never really realised how well funded this school was!
"So, um, is Laurie putting the film on?"

"Yeah she, er... huh..." Only then did it dawn on Eva that she had never actually told Laurie what film to put on. She twisted in her seat, glancing up at the projection room.
"She'll probably switch on the tannoy and ask us what it was we wanted to watch any second now... any second...."

Laurie doesn't bother getting the keys from Mr. Q's office, the door's lock is barely worth the name. And then she's in the projection box, flicking on systems and lights. She pauses, swears and then sets the film to preload but doesn't start it playing.
"So, is it Moonlight again Eva?"
The voice sounds different over the tannoy system, less recognisably Laurie's normally jovial tones.

Ellie raises an eyebrow at Eva, smiling slightly, before turning to the source of the sound.
"We were going for Spectre of the Opera, if you can find it?" she calls, "I can help you find it if you can't."

"Don't worry, I got this" She says pressing the tannoy.
She checks the fridge and pulls out a can of soda and then rummages in the cupboards.
"Found it. Anyone want popcorn?" She says absently, and then repetes it over the tannoy system.

Eva's eyes widen as she desperately waves her hands at Ellie about to launch into an explanation that she is not a closet fan of Moonlight and it was just a phase, a hideous phase off shooting from a lapse in judgement spanning several library trips, friendship bracelets innumerable, and an entire key stage. Or something like that. Luckily, Ellie doesn't miss a beat, informing Laurie of the real film choice and leaving Eva laughing nervously to herself, returning her attention to the screen lowering in the centre of the stage.
"Popcorn might be good!" Eva calls out in reply to Laurie before silence follows.
"So...." The word drags on, just as awkward as it sounded in her head. "What do you like to do, other then read and mess around with computers?"

Oh so she CAN eat things! Ellie noted this down in her head for later, calling as well, "Yeah, popcorn would be awesome!"
"I, er," QUICK, BRAIN, THINK OF AN ANSWER. A VIABLE ANSWER. BUT NOT A LIE. SOMETHING ELSE. QUICK, "I, er, build things."
YES! You answered! Wait, she might think you mean houses. You don't build houses! Dammit Ellie, now she thinks you're a builder. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?

"What, like computers?" Eva asked, putting Ellie's involvement with the computer club and knowledge of the internet and such like together. She smiled and looked at the other intently.

"Yeah!" Ellie said, brightly, glad she hadn't been misunderstood, "And I'm working on other things too, like, er, metal suits that people can wear to make them stronger, it's going a bit slowly that one, but, you know, it could work."

Eva let out a low whistle. "That's impressive, Ellie. You'll have to show me sometime. Hey, maybe you can take a look at some of my code, see if its of any use - you know if you wanted the suits to have any guidance or something..."
She leaned back in her seat, tilting her head up to look at the ceiling. The fluted pattern was reminiscent of her some of the old theatre's she'd visited in France.
"Me? Well... Music and theatre are my two main loves. What time I don't sped studying you will find me either in the Music Room or somewhere around here. I pop into the computer club sometimes but I don't really like thinking about all the stuff going on inside me so... Not that its not cool that you like it! I just... Wheres the popcorn?" She looked back up at the projection box. Why was she so bad at this?

Ellie smiled, "I know what you mean -- I've never understood biologists and they're all interested in what's going on in here," she said, pointing at her own head, "I'd love to hear you play some time though, you know, er, if, er, you wanted, um."
