{Carried on from here a little later}There was something about the air after a sudden downpour that Eva loved. It was clean, fresh and open. The outside had always suited the AI - something to do with the feeling of being free and limitless no doubt. It had taken a while for Emily to finally calm down completely but eventually Eva felt happy enough to leave her side and let her get on with finding her supervisor and grabbing her books from Eillie. Ellie... Eva smiled at the thought of the new girl. In a strange way she reminded her of herself when she first came to the school, latching on to Mia Mulholland like a scared child and asking so many questions... A bitter mood tried to take grip as the memories of days long past floated to the surface. Even Eva herself still hadn't managed to pin point the exact moment it all went wrong, she just remembered the spiralling love affair with Daniel and somehow loosing Mia's friendship along the way... It was in this mood anyone would find Eva, sat in the centre of the Quad singing at an owl about proper flight safety.

[Enter Ellie, vomited out by the time warp]Having given Emily her books and sent her on her way, and not being entirely sure the library was safe for re-entry, Ellie meandered over to the Quad whereupon she immediately saw Eva sitting in the middle.
She made to head outside but as she opened the door into the quad she suddenly froze. What was she going to say? Did her hair look okay? What was she thinking about her hair for? Is that something normal people worry about, their hair? Why am I worrying, she's just another person, there's nothing to be worried about? Isn't there?

Unsurprisingly, given Eva's current state of mind, it was the owl that first noted the other presence in the Quad. His head turned a sharp 90 degrees, tallons squeezing Eva's arm to gain her attention. The AI's eyes followed the gaze of his sharp yellow ones and her face lit up upon spotting Ellie.
"Hey." She called, the break in quiet song loosing her the attention of the bird who swiftly flew away. Still her smile didn't falter as she stood and jogged over to the other. "Did Emily find you?" She then noted the lack of books. "Stupid question..." Her gaze darted away.

Ellie smiled, "Yeah, she found me," before realising she was standing quite awkwardly in the doorway. "You, um, mind if I join you out here?" she asked, willing her legs to begin moving again.

"Sure!" The reply was a little too quick, Eva's nerves beginning to show before she could shove them back down. You would have thought that through learning emotions from scratch one would have a better control of them. This was not the case in Eva's experience. With some effort she smiled it off and moved to the side, letting Ellie walk next to her back to the centre of the grassy patch.
"How are you finding CC High so far then?"

Ellie smiled and came over to join Eva. "It's... interesting," Ellie said, technically truthfully, "I certainly wasn't expecting so much drama so early on!" She laughed a little, but then realising that Eva might construe that for hers, she quickly added, "As in with Mia in the library, and that Arkady guy, not, er, anything else."
She went a little red. Why, cheeks, why must you betray me now?!

There was a pause.
"You can ask, if you want." Eva said, not quite bringing herself to meet Ellie's eyes. The cover up was a poor one, or at least as far as Eva was concerned and lets face it, she's rather self centred. Not that we don't love her for it but everyone has their flaws.

"No, no, I didn't mean that, I just meant..." she found herself going redder. RELAX, ELLIE!
She closed her eyes a second, and reopened them, as if resetting her head. "Sorry, I said I was bad at people, didn't I? Sorry. I'm just really not used to, you know, anything particularly more dramatic than the milk having run out is all. I don't want to intrude on your personal life: it is personal for a reason!"

Eva smiled sadly. "Try telling that to the student body." The words where bitter but dull, like knifes that had been used one too many times. "Though I suppose when your breakups are quite as public and often as mine and Daniel's are...." She shakes her head and glanced at Ellie. "I'm not angry. I'm the one who got dramatic in front of you.... But as to Mia and Arkady... Trouble is never far behind either of them - no matter how hard they try to pretend it's not. Mia also likes to pretend she doesn't like the attention..." At this Eva rolls her eyes and somehow puts a distinctly Good tone in her voice. "I'm doing it for the good of the school - of course if everyone knows it was me that fixed the problem then who am I to turn down an interview with the school paper talking about all the good I did." There us clearly deep seated hate there.

There was a brief pause for a moment as Ellie took all that in, deciding what on earth would be the next best thing to say. Eventually she decided.
"It sounds very much like you could do with distracting from everything."

"Yeah, usually homework and Choir and Theatre work does it, but everything's slowed down for the summer...." She sighed.

'How about coffee?' Ellie nearly asked, before remembering the hints she'd had earlier that this girl was an AI that couldn't in fact eat, and then her own distaste for the stuff anyway.
"How about a film?" Ellie asked, looking at Eva, hoping to catch a change in her put down demeanour, "There's a whole auditorium in the Drama complex, isn't there?"

Eva's demeanour did change, rapidly, into one of surprise. She blinked at Ellie, a smile grazing her lips once again as she nodded.
"A film is exactly what I need. We can totally use the auditorium too. Mr Q used to let me do it all the time when I didn't have Choir practise to take up time too." The smile was infectious, brightening her voice as she started to focus on the film rather then the drama and memories. "Is there anything you had in mind?"

As ever with her mind, Ellie's head filled with completely inappropriate suggestions: Doominator, Era of Vectron, Me Android, Bron, Dayz-E, Him, The Grid, Intelligent System, BSOD, MechaPolice, 2001: A Galactic Quest... all films involving an AI, and most of them evil. She had a sneaking suspicion that that would be at best rude, and at worse Eva would never speak to her. Come on, Ellie, you've been sat at home all your life watching films, you must know SOMETHING.
"How about, er, Spectre of the Opera?" she suggested, figuring it would pick up on Eva's musical nature.

An eyebrow raised as Eva watched the cogs turning in the females brain. It was kind of adorable watching her put this much thought into a film suggestion, something that Daniel never bothered with, if he even bothered to turn up to a movie night at all.
"Oh," Eva exclaimed, surprised. "I've not actually seen that one. Sure."
