{Carrying on from this post}Eva's walk hadn't been a long one, but it had been enough for her to clear her head. After that, the library had seemed like the place to go - perhaps it was subconscience after all the talk of books with Ellie in the lunch room earlier. This seemed to make sense when the first person Eva saw in there was the other girl. The only problem was, she didn't know how to start a conversation with her. Her lower lip caught between her teeth as she thought, walking along one of the shelving racks ideally as she tried to think of an excuse to talk to the other.

Ellie vaguely heard the sound of the door opening and closing, but was too engrossed in what she was reading to notice the other girl in the library.

{context in this post}
Loud tears echo around the school. All the birds in the vicinity become extremely agitated, and begin flying towards the sound.

[continued from this thread]Mia is library-bound, thoughts awhirl. That Arkady's proposed plan of action is risky, unorthodox, and ever so vaguely immoral, she knows. That it could be the only halfway decent lead they'll get, she is also acutely aware. Either way, as a friend and fellow Student Council representative, she trusts him implicitly - sanctimonious ramblings of the rest of the school be damned. Here's to hoping his judgement is as good as his intentions. Locked in a flurry of moral musings, she nonetheless picks up on the sound of bird flight. The ire she managed to suppress on the roof returns tenfold, as she races towards the library, mentally prepping a very stern lecture on the misappropriation of learning resources and the destructive properties of bird shit. That, or she'll whack Eva on the head with the flat of her ruler, depends on her mood - - And instantly, she's confronted by a weeping Emily Choi. Anger forgotten, she rushes forwards to check she's okay: after all, if fellow Hall Monitors can't look out for each other, who can? "Er. Emily?" she tries.

After several minuets of somewhat stalker-ish staring, Eva received the perfect excuse to talk to the girl in the form of a loud smack against one of the library windows. It was caused by a small bird hitting the glass. An eyebrow raised in interest, Eva approached Ellie.
"Hey, Ellie. I think some things going on with the birds about school... if you're free, want to come check it out with me?"

Ellie looked up from her book, surprised but happy to see Eva. "Was that what that 'THWONK' on window was?" she smiled, "Sure, I'll come check it out."
Ellie closed her book and put it in her bag before kicking the heavy bag under a desk for safekeeping (after all, who was going to steal her bag full of books outside of term anyway?) and stood up. "Where first?"

Eva smiled in return, glad the other had agreed to come along. She couldn't help but feel drawn to the other girl. There was just something about her.
"I imagine whatever is causing the distress can't be far away." She mused, tilting her head. "So maybe we should check the quad?"

Ellie grinned: her electromagnet must be working
"To the quad!" she grinned, pointing dramatically, before "Er, which way is that?"

While the snort that came from Eva was far from dignified, her smile was sweet. Her head jerked towards the Library door.
"I'll show you the way. So you memorised all of our names, but not the school map?" She teased, gently nudging Ellie with her elbow. the moment they were out of the library though, she could hear it. The soft, echoing sound of crying. "Perhaps not the quad then." After a few moments searching it didn't take long to find the source and Eva ran to Emily's side, completely ignoring Mia. "Emily! Emily what's wrong?"

"The school map seemed secondary," Ellie laughed, before seeing Emily whereupon her expression fell. Ellie rushed over, "Emily, are you okay?"

Arkady bounces into the room enthusiastically. "Oi, you two; who wants to help me figure out new and exciting ways to cheat at tests? You can try and deal with your blatant unresolved sexual tension in the process, if you want, so long as you don't get distracted."

Avalon glances over from where she's (silently, ineptly) comforting Emily, and mouths 'are you serious?' in Arkady's direction.
... Which is fruitless, because of course he is. In all likelihood.

Ellie looks at Arkady sharply, but going very red and opens her mouth but without anything to actually say.

Arkady looks indignant. "You are getting distracted! And after I specifically asked you not to. I'm disappointed. Come on, can't you use your birds or something, Eva?"
